I've done Face painting for 20 years, using only the best face paint make up products available.
Face paint make up is water activated make up that is applied with brushes & sponges. My experience includes taking classes & attending conventions with the best face and body artists in the world in locations like Fort Lauderdale & Orlando in Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, Banff in Canada, New Orleans, Louisiana, & Austin, tx, Teachers/artists I have studied with in full day classes include Mark Reid, Nick Wolfe, Dutch Bihary, Annie Reynolds, Jinny, Jocelyn Casdorf, Ronnie Mena, Shawna Del Real, Marcela Bustamante, Cameron Garrett, Lilly Walters, & Marcela Murad. In conventions I've taken classes with those and many more from Russia, Italy, England, Australia, and more!

These are some examples of the body painting that I've done over the past few years, some in classes and some at body paint jams, as well as Mystique, which was done for a Halloween competition in which she won $1000 prize!
I've done Henna for over 17 years, & attended conferences in California, Minnesota, and Connecticut with teachers from all over the world for the past 14 years all this came about because I was originally a musician playing in pit Orchestra and got painted in one of the shows… Who knew it was going to turn into such a great experience! |

Henna, a body art product made from the plant by the same name, dyes the skin once it is mixed usually with sugar, lemon (I use an alternative black tea due to a sensitivity I've developed to lemon juice), & essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, or tea tree that help to produce a deeper stain. It lasts from one to three weeks, color usually develops from a bright orange at paste removal to a deep brown in one to two days, then fades as the skin grows out. In the dry climate of New Mexico I usually recommend the the paste stay on 12 hours, even better if you can keep it to 24 hours, so that the skin can absorb the most dye it possibly can. Keeping the paste on can be accomplished by covering the paste once fully dry (give it an hour, possibly two if there has been rain in the area) with toilet paper to keep the paste from rehydrating from your skin sweating, followed by wrapping with an ace bandage. Tape can also be used but be sure to let me know in advance because the lemon sugar spray I use to seal can react with the adhesive in the tape & cause it to stick to the skin when you take the tape off.
Other body art options: Glitter tattoos or Airbrush tattoos (both temporary)
Glitter tattoos involve using a non-latex adhesive that glitter is applied to once dry. The adhesive is basically the adhesive used on bandages in liquid form, while the glitter is the same micro fine cosmetic glitter used in face painting. Glitter tattoos can be applied using stencils or freehand in similar patterns to henna. These tattoos last from two days to a week in general however many times they can last longer. They can be removed with intense soaking, rubbing with alcohol, or oils and lotion use.
Airbrush tattoos use and alcohol based paint that is applied with stencils. It lasts anywhere from two days to a week. How during the tattoo will extend the life. Because this is alcohol based paint it is removed with alcohol. Avoid lotion and oil as these may remove them as well.
Each of these are basically waterproof however intense soaking will remove them.
